Cazden (et al, 1982) points out the similarity of this tune with his Catskill Mountain (New York) collected "Wild Irish Boy (The)." See also the similar "I'm a poor stranger and far from my own (1)" from Joyce's Old Irish Folk Music and Songs (1909).
