Collected by the great English collector Maude Karpeles, a contemporary of and collaborator with Cecil Sharpe, at Port Eynon, Gower, Wales in 1927. The tune is a reel setting of "Rickett's Hornpipe" AKA "Manchester Hornpipe. A mouth-music version used for step-dancing was famously recorded from the Phil Tanner for Columbia Records in 1937, and recorded, probably by Maud Karpeles, at Penmaen Gower, Wales, April 22, 1949.
