JOHNIE BLUNT. Scottish, Air (6/8 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). One part. Johnie Blunt is a song written by Robert Burns in 1792 and published in James Johnson's Scots Musical Museum, vol. 4 (1792, No. 365, p. 376). Stenhouse maintained the air to the song was the original of "Get Up and Bar the Door" in vol. 3 of the Museum, although its cognate, "Barring of the Door (The)" John Glen, however, thought the tune to have been first printed in the Museum, vol. 4.
