LILLY OF THE VALLEY. American, Minstrel Song. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). ABCD. "Lilly of the Valley" was a blackface minstrel song published in New York in 1847 by Jaques and Brother in an arrangement by E.P. Christy (1815-1862), the founder of the group Christy's Minstrels. The lyric begins:
