MR. LANE'S TRUMPET MINUET [2]. English, Minuet (3/4 time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The tune, by Mr. Lane, dancing master to Charles II, was first published in Henry Playford's Dancing Master Part II [1], supplement to the 9th edition (1696). It was retained in the long-running Dancing Master series through the 18th and final edition of 1728, then published by John Young, heir to the Playford publishing concerns.
