Source for notated version: fiddler Henri Landry (1923-2001, Pontbriand region, Québec), who learned the reel from an early mentor, an elderly local fiddler of humble means named Thomas «Quêteux» Pomerleau, “kindly, poor and eccentric”—and left-handed! [Hart & Sandell]. Thomas Pomerleau died in 1940 [see other Pomerleau tunes: "Marche de Thomas Pomerleau," "Marche a Quêteux Pomerleau," "Bedeau de l'enfer (Le)"].
