WHEN THE BATTLE’S O’ER. AKA – “After the Battle.” Scottish, Retreat March (3/4 time). A Mixolydian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. A late 19th century composition by Pipe Major William Robb (1863-1909), of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, the tune entered piping repertoire before World War I.
