Composed by Aberdeenshire fiddler-composer biography:Alexander Walker in honor of Sir John Stuart Forbes (1804-1856), Baronet of Fettercairn and Pitsligo. He became eighth baronet on his father's death, in October, 1828. He wed the only daughter and heiress of Sir John (Belsches-Wishart) Stuart, Bart. of Fettercairn, a Baron of the Exchequer, and succeeded his father in law about 1825. He enlarged his seat, Fettercairn House, Kincardineshire, in 1829 (it was originally built in 1666 by the first Earl of Middleton).
