Murdoch Henderson (1902-1972), dedicated to Alexander Grant of Inverness. Loch Riach was the unofficial name of a reservoir lake formed by the Broch Dam on the border of Banff and Aberdeen, and it is the place where Henderson observed the ospreys in the 1920's [1]. Henderson wrote an essay on the ospreys, published in The Scottish Naturalist.
