MICK O'CONNOR'S (REEL). AKA and see "Katie Taylor," "Rafferty's Mustache." Irish, Reel. There is a story that New Jersey flute player Mike Rafferty had no name for the tune (which he found as an untitled tune obtained from Willie Kelly) so invented one, calling the reel "Rafferty's Mustache". It was printed under the "Mick O'Connor" title in Bulmer and Sharpley's Music from Ireland, vol. 4 in 1976, however, the reel is a actually a Paddy Taylor composition called "Katie Taylor," although it is also similar to County Roscommon flute player Josie McDermott's "Lansdowne Lass (The)."
Source for notated version: London banjo player Mick O'Connor [Bulmer & Sharpley]. O'Connor was Bulmer & Sharpley's source for the tune, but had himself learned it from Paddy Taylor.
