YOUNG'S WISDOM. English, Country Dance Tune (cut time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The melody and dance instructions were first published in John Johnson's The Second Book of the Compleat Country Dancing Master (3rd edition, 1735, p. 110), followed by an appearance in Daniel Wright's Compleat Collection of Celebrated Country Dances (1740, p. 30). Walsh published it again in 1749 in his third edition of The Second Book of the Compleat Country Dancing Master.
