BACAGH OF THE WATTLE, THE (Bacac na cleite). Irish, Air or Jig (6/8 time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The melody was published in 1855 under this title by collector George Petrie [1] (1790-1866), who transcribed it from playing of Galway piper biography:Paddy Coneely in 1840. It is a version of "Banish Misfortune (2)" and "Connie the Soldier."
