The melody and country dance directions were first printed by London publisher Benjamin Martin in his The General Magazine of Arts and Sciences (London, 1755). It was reprinted by John Johnson in his anthology Choice Collection of 200 Favourite Country Dances, vol. 8 (1758, No. 99).
