RORY MacLEOD. AKA - “Rory McLeod.” Scottish, Jig. A Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABBCCDD. "Rory MacLeod" is said to have been Pipe Major Donald McLeod’s (1916-1982) first composition, written when he was 14 years old. It has since become a mainstay of the Scottish pipe jig repertory, and has been absorbed into other genres as well. MacLeod was born in Stornoway, on Lewis, in the Scottish Hebridean Islands in 1916, served with the Seaforth Highlanders in World War II and survived to have a long career in piping.
