GEORGE REYNOLDS. AKA - "Planxty Reynolds." Irish, Planxty (6/8 time). F Major (Mulhollan). D Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. Composed by blind Irish harper Turlough O'Carolan (1670-1738). An early composition by the blind Irish harper Turlough O'Carolan (1670-1738) from the time he was living in the mansion of his first patron, George Reynolds, Esq., of Letterfyan, near Lough Scur, County Leitrim. It was Reynolds, something of a poet himself, who told O’Carolan of the two fairy hills nearby, telling him that a great battle had been recently fought between them, which resulted in “Sheebeg Sheemore” and “Fairy Queen (1)” and urged him to compose.
