HEN CACKLE RAG. American, Country Rag. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). "Hen Cackle Rag: A Barnyard Disturbance" [1] was composed by Charles Johnson (1875-1950) of Kansas City, c. 1900. Johnson was a prolific composer of ragtime and other pieces for the piano (see also his "Dill Pickle Rag"). He was also an accomplished string player, who joined several guitar and mandolin societies, and who started string orchestras.
