FIELDTOWN PROCESSIONAL. English, Morris Dance Tune (March Time, 4/4). G Major (Mallinson): A Major (Bacon). Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB (Mallinson): AABA (Bacon). Collected from the Fieldtown (now Leafield), located in Wychwood Forest in northwestern Oxfordshire. For much of its history Leafield was a part of the lands belonging to the Duke of Marlboro and thus the Churchill/Spenser family. There are other processionals, unrelated, from the Tideswell and Gisburn (see "Tideswell Processional" and "Gisburn Processional").
