DEVIL AND THE DIRK, THE. Scottish, Reel. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB (Hardie): AAB (Skinner). Composed by J. Scott Skinner and first published in his Scottish Violinist (1900) and again in the Harp and Claymore (1904) collection where it is set with numerous variations and arranged by Gavin Greig. Skinner styled the piece a "rondo or reel" [1].
