It was appears in James Oswald Caledonian Pocket Companion, Book 10 (1760, p. 15), albeit under the "Kick the World Before You" title, and, as "Kick the Rogues Out," in Bremner (1757) and Stewart's (1788) collections. Cellist and composer James Oswald [1] (1710-1769) printed it in his Caledonian Pocket Companion Book 10 (London, 1760, p. 15) as "Kick the World before You."
