PRIEST'S LEAP [1], THE. AKA and see “Bridal Jig (1) (The),” “Humors of Quarry Cross (The),” “Jerry Donovan's Favorite,” “Kennedy's Bridal Jig,” “Leinster Lasses (The),” “McPaddin's Favorite,” “The Night Cap.” Irish, Double Jig. G Major ('A' part) & E Minor ('B' part). Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB (Flaherty): AA'BB' (Roche). Fiddler Paddy Killoran recorded the tune with his Pride of Erin Orchestra in October, 1934, under the title “McPaddin's Favorite” in a set called “Jerry Donovan's Favorite” (followed by "Mist on the Meadow (1) (The)/Castlebar Races"). John Gerrity called it the “The Night Cap” and Paddy Cronin and Joe Burke had it as “Humors of Quarry Cross (The).”
