ROCKS OF CASHEL [1], THE. AKA and see “Carrigaline,” "It's a Hard Road to Travel," “Milestone (2) (The),” "Steeplechase (2)." Irish, Reel. C Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. The reel was printed in William Bradbury Ryan's Ryan's Mammoth Collection, issued in 1883 in Boston by the Elias Howe music company. The melody is more famously known as "Steeplechase (2)", the title employed by by Sligo fiddlers Paddy Killoran and Paddy Sweeney on their 1932 recording. It was printed around the turn of the 20th century by Chief O’Neill under the title “Carrigaline," and 20th century Belfast fiddler Sean Maguire recorded it as "Milestone (2) (The)/Millstone."
