'''RENDEZVOUS, THE''' (A' Choisir). Scottish, Reel. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB (Athole, Fraser): AABB' (Kerr). This tune and "[[North Hunt (The)]]"..."form a medley, complimentary to the Northern Meeting, which becomes, in every month of October, the rendezvous of all the beauty and fashion in the north of Scotland" (Fraser). Alburger says it is likely Capt. Fraser wrote the tune. The first strain of "The Rendezvous" was appropriated for the first strain of the 5th Figure of the Irish quadrille "Off to Skelligs" (see "[[Off to Skelligs--5th Figure]]"), as well as other Irish polkas, gallops and quadrilles under various titles.

RENDEZVOUS, THE (A' Choisir). Scottish, Reel. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB (Athole, Fraser): AABB' (Kerr). This tune and "North Hunt (The)"..."form a medley, complimentary to the Northern Meeting, which becomes, in every month of October, the rendezvous of all the beauty and fashion in the north of Scotland" (Fraser). Alburger says it is likely Capt. Fraser wrote the tune. The first strain of "The Rendezvous" was appropriated for the first strain of the 5th Figure of the Irish quadrille "Off to Skelligs" (see "Off to Skelligs--5th Figure"), as well as other Irish polkas, gallops and quadrilles under various titles.
