BUCKIN' DUN. American, Breakdown. USA, Arizona. A Major. Standard or AEae tuning (fiddle). AABB. May be "Buckin' Mule." Arizona fiddler Kenner Kartchner (1887-1970) said: "A dun horse threw a rider at Magdalena, New Mexico, show about 1900. A fiddler took the hint with this result" (Shumway). 'Dun' describes the color of a horse, usually yellowish-tan, with a darker colored mane.
