Drew Beisswenger (2008) points similarities in the ‘A’ part with source Alton Jones’s own “Jefferson/Jeff City]” and the ‘B’ part with Bob Holt’s “Ninth of January.” Kentucky fiddle Roger Cooper believes the tune resembles “Durham's Reel.” No relation to "Little Sadie."
