REEL DES VOYAGEURS, LE (The Traveler's Reel). AKA - "Reel du Voyageur." French-Canadian, Reel. A Major. AEae tuning (fiddle). AA’B (Remon & Bouchard): AA’BB’ (Hart & Sandell). A ‘crooked’ or irregular tune in the second strain, with a measure of 6/4 at the end of the ‘B’ part. The melody is a variant of O’Neill’s “Traveller (1) (The)” and William Bradbury Ryan’s “Walker Street.” Omer Marcoux's "Labrador" may be a similar tune. One unrelated “Reel des Voyageurs” released in Québec in the 78 RPM era is simply a version of “Arkansas Traveler.” Jean Carignan's "Reel du voyageur" is a different tune.
