Source for notated version: - Chicago fiddler John McFadden (c. 1847-c. 1913) [O'Neill]. McFadden was born in County Mayo into a musical family; his father and brother were both fiddlers. He had a large repertoire and was the source for numerous tunes in the O'Neill collections. He was also valued by O'Neill for his original compositions and for his ability to spontaneously create melodic variations as he played.
