Scottish, English; Slip Jig (9/8 time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. See cognate tunes "Sailor Lassie (The)" from Glasgow musician James Aird's Selection of Scotch, English, Irish and Foreign Airs, vol. 3 (p. 198, No. 517) and "Tadg O Flaherty" from the mid-19th century music manuscript collection of Canon James Goodman (County Cork). Straight and Skillern printed the tune in London c. 1775 as "Sailor's Delight (4)."
