O'KEEFFE'S 'WOMAN OF THE HOUSE'. AKA and see "Woman of the House (2)." Irish, Reel. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. A variant of the reel "Woman of the House (2)," played by Sliabh Luachra fiddle master Pádraig O'Keeffe [1]. Although O'Keeffe is sometimes credited with the tune, it seems clear it is an adaptation of the tune that goes by the names "Woman of the House (2)," "Mistress of the House (The)" and others. One version, "Cows are a-Milking," was printed in 1909 by collector P.W. Joyce (1827-1914) and probably predates O'Keeffe.
