CARAQUET, LA. Described by Anne Lederman in her article on "Fiddling" in the Encyclopedia of Music in Canada (1992) as an Acadian tune that is typically played with the 'D' string removed and the lowest ('G') string tuned to 'A' in order to facilitate a droning effect throughout.
