BIDDY. American, Reel (cut time). A Mixolydian. AEae tuning (fiddle). AABB. The tune is sourced to the playing of Pocahontas County, West Virginia, fiddler Edden Hammons (1875-1955), who was recorded in the field by Louis Chappell in 1947. Hammons is accompanied on the guitar by an inadequate guitarist, with the microphone unfortunately picking up too much of that instrument, to the detriment of the sound of Hammon's fiddling.
