CHAMBERLAIN, THE. AKA and see "Gordon's Reel," "Reel à Rémi," "Reel de l'hôtelier," "Set américain 2ème partie (Soucy)." Canadian, Reel. D Major. Standard or ADae tunings (fiddle). AABB (Messer): AA'BB' (Hart & Sandell). A popular Quebec reel with several titles. In the 78 RPM era the influential Quèbec fiddler Joseph Allard (1873-1947) recorded it as "Reel de l'hôtelier," while Isidore Soucy recorded it in 1928 as "Set américain 2ème partie (Soucy)." Louis Beaudion (1921-1980, Burlington, Vt.) called this tune by the generic title "Galope." See also the first strain of Arthur Scott Robertson's "Laxo Burn."
