REEL À RÉMI. AKA - "Rémi's Reel." AKA and see “Chamberlain Reel (The),” "Gordon's Reel," “Reel de l'hôtelier,” "Set américain 2ème partie (Soucy)." French-Canadian, Reel. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The title is one the group La Bottine Souriante used for the reel, and honors contemporary fiddler Rémi Laporte. The tune was recorded by Montreal fiddler Joseph Allard (1873-1947) as "Reel de l'hôtelier, and, still earlier, in 1925 by Montreal fiddler Isidore Soucy as "Set américain 2ème partie (Soucy)."
