CASTLE TOWN HUNT. Irish, Jig (6/8 time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABBCCDD. The Castletown Hunt was an Anglo-Irish gentleman's club in the 18th century. They were the subject of a pastel by Irish artist Robert Healy (1743-1771), after a commission in the late 1760's of nine paintings from MP Tom Conolly, to be executed at his seat, Castletown, County Kildare.
