Source for notated version: Darley & McCall had the tune from a piper from County Galway, Stephen Ruane, who was deceased at the time of publication (1914). They noted that Ruane was "an excellent performer": From the playing of the late north Kerry fiddler Paddy O'Sullivan, via Paul de Grae.
