BOB SHORT'S WHIM. English, Slip Jig and Country Dance Tune (6/8 time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The melody and instructions for a country dance were first printed in John Hinton's Universal Magazine of Knowledge and Pleasure (London, March, 1753). Subsequently it was published by John Johnson in his 200 Favorite Country Dances, vol. 7 (London, 1756, p. 73).
