Additional notes

Source for notated version: - Liam Donnelly (Lisburn, County Antrim) [Mulvihill]; "I got this tune from Proinseas mac Suibhne, who had it from Nabla ni h-Anluain, an old fiddler, now (August, 1903) in the Workhouse at Dun-Fionnchon. She was one of the evicted tenants of Fal-carrach on the Olphert Estate" [Padraig Mac Aodh O'Neill]. In all the were nearly 2,500 people evicted from their homes in the late 1880's as a result of a rent strike, supported by the local Catholic clergy. Their eviction became a cause celebre in England and America, who assisted with a campaign of non-violent resistance. In the end, only 10% of families were readmitted to their lands, with more returning in the early 1900s.
