Back to Catch Club


CATCH CLUB. American, Jig. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. 'Catch club' = a group of individual organized for singing, usually part songs. The 'B' part corresponds to the 'B' parts of "Down on the Big Sandy" (Bayard, 1981; No. 492, pg. 455) and "New Rig'd Ship." See note for "Catches and Glees" for explanation of 'catch'.
