Back to Dutch Skipper (2)
DUTCH SKIPPER [2], THE. AKA and see "Auretti's Dutch Skipper." English; Jig (6/8 time). England, Northumberland. B Flat Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. There were a number of tunes in a varity of meters that went by the title "Dutch Skipper." All appear to be based on stage dances in imitation of dutch steps. See notes for "Auretti's Dutch Skipper" and "Dutch Skipper (6) (The)" for more.
