FAITHFUL BROWN COW [1], THE (Drium-Fionn Donn Dileas). Irish, Air (3/4 time). G Major/Mixolydian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. Cazden (et al, 1982) finds this melody belongs to the "Drimindown" family of tunes which includes his Catskill Mountain (New York) collected "The Maid on the Shore," "Drimindown" from both Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island, Petrie's #81 and O'Neill's "The Sorrowful Maiden." See also "Drimín Donn Dílis."
