Back to Fowling Piece (The)


FOWLING PIECE, THE. AKA and see "Evergreen Lasses," "Pretty Maids of Bulgaden (The)," "Templehouse Reel (The)." Irish, Reel. Widely known under the title "Templehouse (Reel)." Recorded in London in 1931 by local musicians in the Woodford, Galway, area of Ireland. Most Irish music recordings up until that time had been made in New York, and this side represents one of the first efforts of commercial recordings of Irish traditional music in Ireland and Britain.
