Back to Fumbler (1) (The)


FUMBLER [1], THE. English, Country Dance Tune (cut time). G Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The melody first appears in print in Johnson's Choice Collection of 200 Favourite Country Dances, vol. 5 (London, 1750), and in the periodical London Magazine, or Gentleman's Monthly Intelligencer (p. 182, 1750). It also appears in Walsh's Compleat Country Dancing Master, vol. the Fifth (London, 1754).
