GARICK REEL. Scottish, Reel. The melody appears under this title in the (James) Gillespie Manuscript of Perth (1768). The title may refer to David Garrick, who managed the theatre at Drury Lane from 1747-1776. Garrick was accounted the finest actor of his time and attempted historically accurate productions.
