HIGGINS' BEST (Roga Uí Uiginn). AKA and see "Flowing Tide (1)," "Picnic Reel (2)," "Seventh Regiment." Irish, Hornpipe. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The tune appears in reel settings as "Picnic Reel" and "7th Regiment." The latter is attributed to one Conn. Higgins in Ryan's Mammoth Collection (1884), and may be the original source for the tune. However, it is usually known nowadays as the Irish hornpipe "Flowing Tide (1)."

Source for notated version: fiddler John McElligot (Chicago) [O'Neill].
