Back to Hopple's Reel
HOPPLE'S REEL. American, Reel. USA, southwestern Pa. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). ABB. The first part of the tune is the same as "Lardner's Reel," "Galaxy Reel" and "Cowboys (2)," while the 'B' part Bayard (1981) calls "simple repetitive melodizing." The source named Christ Hopple, an old Juniata County, Pa., fiddler as the one who taught it to him.
