Back to Earl of Fife (1) (The)


EARL OF FIFE, THE. Scottish, Strathspey. B Flat Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. Composed by William Marshall (1748-1833). The Earl of Fife in Marshall's day was the 4th Earl, Lord Duff of Duff House by the Deveron River in Banff. The Earl founded Dufftown in 1817. Not "Earl of Fife's Strathspey (The)" in Marshall's 1822 Collection.
