Irish, Double Jig. D Mixolydian ('A' part) & D Major ('B' part). Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. D Dorian ('A' part) & D Dorian/Major ('B' part). Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Petrie said the song "Máire Inis Toirc" was sung to this air, though Breathnach states it was not sung to it in Cois Fhairrge at the time he was writing. Petrie also published two setting of the tune, a jig called "Bacach na Cleithe" (obtained from Patrick Coneelly, a piper, in 1840) and a song called "Banish Misfortune."
