Composed by Robert Pringle and originally published in his half-brother biography:John Pringle's Collection of Reels, Strathspeys & Jigs (1801). The tune also appears in the Shand Collection. Hawick [1] is town in the Teviotdale area of the southeast Borders region of the country.
