Back to Mr. Stewart Dowally's Reel
MR. STEWART DOWALLY’S REEL. Scottish, Reel. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. Composed by Kirkmichael, Perthshire, fiddler and composer Robert Petrie (1767-1830). Petrie also has a "Miss Stewart Dowally's Jig." Dowally, rather than being a surname, may refer to the village of Dowally in the parish of Dunkeld and Dowally, central Perthshire. It is located on the left bank of the River Tay, where it is joined by Dowally Burn.
