Back to Duck River
DUCK RIVER. AKA and see "Dubuque," "Old Dubuque," "General Lee," "Sally in the Green Corn." Old-Time, Breakdown. USA; Magoffin County, Ky. D Major. Standard or ADae tunings (fiddle). AABB. Jeff Titon (2001) says the specific "Duck River" tune seems to be particular to the Salyer family, although it is part of a fairly common tune family. Titon says the tune family to which "Duck River" belongs also includes "Ma Ferguson," "Nancy Dawson [2]," "Nancy Dalton," and "Hell Up Coal Holler [2]." See also "Possum Up a Gum Stump."
