Back to Farewell to Ballymoney
FAREWELL TO BALLYMONEY (Slan Le Baile-Muine). AKA and see "Daniel O'Daly," "Dear Irish Maid (The)." Irish, Slow Air (3/4 time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). One part. O'Neill also prints essentially the same air as "Daniel O'Daly" in "Music of Ireland." The small town of Balleymoney (derived from the Irish Baile Monaidh, or "homestead on the peatland") is in north County Antrim, northern Ireland.
